Seniors Cap Top Homecoming Honors he Homecoming festivities, starting on Friday brought students to school in Western garb. The highlight of that day the Greased Pig Contest, was easily swept by the Seniors. The campus was brightly col- ored Monday with the gaudy costumes of Clash Day. A sticky new event, the Big Apple relay, was won by the Sophomores. Some fretty punny outfits came strolling through the doors for Switch Day and Sophomores won the TugoWar. Wednesday was a day for mourning and black was predominate all over the school. The second annual bed race was exhausting for the teams but fun for the crowd. Queen Carolyn and her court led the serpentine through the malls and to the bonfire, a main event of the week. Thursday climaxed the week with Green and White Day, Button Day, and the annual big assembly with all the class yells and skits. The victory and the dance made a fitting ending to the week. 1 Male supremacy was questioned by Seniors Susan Schink, left, and Diane Soucy. 2. Black may sometimes signify sorrow but Juniors Lisa Sizelove and Judy Storbakken bad fun as vamps ' ' on Black Day. 3 Classiest Clasber . Nancy Egbers. is introduced at Clash Day assembly. 4 Although heaving mightily, the Frosh could not overpower the Sophomores during fiomecoming week. 5. One of the top groups in the big Thursday assembly was Sophomore cheerleaders From left Rob North, Jerry McCaddam, Brad Pritchard, Eric Fischer, Ron Huffstodt, and Edward Summers. 12

Varied Fall Sports Open For Girls ulldog Mermaids started out the season well by picking up a pair of wins over Meadow- dale and Lynwood. Led by team Captain Donna Smith, they continued and swam to ten victo- ries, ending the season with an impressive record, ten wins and four losses. Tracy Manduchi did an excellent job, remaining unde- feated in diving. She ranked first in league competi- tion and competed in both District and State meets. Seniors who put in their last strokes were for MVHS Donna Smith Laura Wood. Teri Davis and Tracy Manduchi. Determination is the name of the game in Girls ' Cross Country. Being a small team, the girls did well under the leadership of their new coach Jess delBosque by placing third in League. They completed the season with an overall standing of six-six. Finishing their last miles were Seniors: Andrea PihI. Carol Swanson and Cindy Coker. 1. Striding past the mile mark is Kris Allen front and Sammie Lemmon. 2 Andrea PihI leads the pack as Amy Fredrickson. left, Samie Lemmon, and Cris Bearden follow close behind 3. Making up the Girls ' Cross Country Team are Front row, L to R. Cindy Coker. Diane Larson, Carol Swanson, Lisa Knapp and Amy Fredrickson Back row, Sandy Sather, Cris Bearden, Laura McLatchy, Andrea PihI, Sammie Lemmon, Kris Alien and Joy Bledsoe 4. With high stamina Senior Carol Swanson approaches the finish line.
