'il 3 9 Alter two years of successful high school life, the class of 1953 opened its junior year with the election of class tii.fiL'Ol'S. Ken Huestis was elected to head the class with Jack Guhrud as his assis- tant. Sharon Baxter was selected to write up the ininutes and Suzie Jacob- sen. to guard the money. For a nice quiet class, only two sergeants-at-arnis were needed. so David Berger and Carlo Criin were elected. A new class spng was introduced at the junior assenihly which was pre- sented November 22 with a Thanks- giving theme. Many junior boys were active in sports and the class had representa- tives on all the school teams.

To guide the group through the sea of trouble and learning were the class advisers. Mrs. Miriam Nelson. Mr. Bruce Parker. Mr. Charles Easton, Mr. Jack Adler. Mr. Daxe Duvall. and Miss Doris Betty. Activities began in September when the Sophomore Class sponsored a dance fit the Y.M.C.A. ln October the class welezined the Irosh into high school life at Ll sock dance held in the old gymnasium. To keep the treasury in good standing, they took charge of the concessions at several games. The high- hght of the class activities was the an- nual Snphomore assembly which was given February 21. 1 Q5 W 1155
