“Anna is a very caring lady; she cares about her family; she cares about her students, and she cares about the school and her fellow teachers, remarked Delbert Pace at the faculty year-end luncheon at which Mrs. Berry was honored. Anna taught English for 17 years at MVSHS before she chose to retire at the end of the 1985-86 school year. She come here from Muhlenberg. Ky. where she had taught for 3 years, before that she taught for 9 years in Perry County. Ky. Previously, she had taught one year each at Jackson School, Chaffe Public School, and Jonesburg Public School. aN of which were located in Missouri She received her Bachelor's Degree from Southeast Missouri State College and her Master's Degree from the University of Missouri She was the yearbook advisor for 16 years, and several thousand MVSHS alumni can recall pleasant memories of their high school years because Mrs. Berry felt strongly that the yearbook was the most important publication'' put out by the school. She also served as advisor to the Sunshine Club, a club that performed little kindnesses' for staff members throughout the school year She always looked on the bright side of things she is a very sweet lady, and she helped me with anything she could . always helped me when I needed it . helped me so many times I con't count them all .. was kind and willing to help others'' were remarks made by members of the Sunshine Club. Commented one of the students. The nice thing about Mrs Berry was that she was always there for us. DEDICATED TO: A VERY CARING LADY 2

Just because school was out for the summer, MVSHS students did not slow down. Many students continued their achievements throughout the summer. Jim Goodridge, John Hall, Jim Stickels, and alternate Steve Fulton attended Hoosier Boys' State this year. Pam Wilcox attended the Hugh O'Brian Leadership Conference in Indianapolis. Becky Dunn also attended the conference as a counselor, and she later attended the International Conference also held in Indianapolis. Closer to home, Tony Acuff played on the sectional winning Funkhouser baseball team in Evansville. Two MVSHS students traveled out of the country this year. The first, John Reed, went to Australia to visit relatives, attend school, and participate in some extra curricular activities. Junior, Jim Culley participated in an exchange program sponsored by 4-H. He spent a month in Japan. 4 Summer Activities
