Tommy L. Collins Assistant Principal Counselor Charles W. Valier Assistant Pcincipal Counselor Mr. Valier co-ordinates the ac- tivities of the Student Council, student participation in the free lunch program, textbook needs, matters relating to safety glasses, assignment problems and serves as the administrative co-ordinator re. the master schedule. He as- sumes responsibility for student related matters in the cafeteria, supervises matters relating to stu- dent attendance, interviews all students wishing to enroll at MVSHS. and oversees compliance with the law re. emergency pre- paredness. Mr. Collins co-ordinates the high school activities calendar, cafeteria personnel, custodial per- sonnel. building maintenance, locker problems of a functional nature and supervises the sched- uling of events with groups and or- ganizations requesting facilities for meetings. He schedules lunch releases, supervises and co-ordin- ates budgetary functions, over- sees the keeping of high school equipment inventory and issues appropriate keys to all staff mem- bers.

 I have been principal of Mt. Vernon Senior High School since 1970- 71. The year immediately prior to that I counseled Junior High stu- dents and worked with sophomores at Mt. Vernon High School as their counselor. Prior to becoming a counselor I taught seventh and eighth grade science and biology on occasion. Some of my main duties as principal would include: evaluation of teaching personnel, responsibility for all activities being conducted at Mt. Vernpn Senior High School and providing leadership in the devel- opment of the school program. I enjoy serving in the capacity of a program co-ordinator and prob- lem solver. I find contact with staff and students to be most enjoyable. ■■■■I
