TRIP TO MEXICO I I ROW 1 L to R: Connie Redman, Shelly Crist, Carolyn Parrish, Diana Tucker, ROW 2 L to R: Karen Grey, Debbie Main, Darlene Kueber, Velvet Hanes, Lee McCarty, Tom Farrell. On June 10th we took off for Mexico. The trip consisted of many things, both expected and unexpected. The itinerary for Mexico City involved a tour of the City itself and the University of Mexico, a trip to the Pyramids and the Floating Gardens of Xochimilco, and many encounters with the Mexican people. The trip to the Aztec Pyramids was very interesting. One pyramid offered a fantastic view after many, many steps of climbing to reach the top. The tour of Mexico City included a trip to the University of Mexico where the Olympics were held in 1968. We also viewed their library which is well known for the beautiful drawings on the outer wall. The Floating Gardens of Xochimilco were disappointing. It was a bit muddy and lacked the color which was shown in their brochures. We had a gorgeous view of the ocean, where the majority of us went swimming after a shopping trip. It was only after a scary six hour bus ride that we arrived in Acapulco. The trip was fun filled and very rewarding. It came to an end on June 15th when we returned only to find our luggage had been left in Mexico City.
