A ROBE FOR THE QUEEN A robe of red satin and white taffeta, presented by the Sunshine Society, was used for the first time when President Jennie Stevens draped it over the shoul- ders of Football Queen Judy Mathes. It is the hope of the Sunshine Society that the robe will become a traditional part of future queen crownings. THE QUEEN AND HER COURT Crowned by Captain Tom Humston on September 28, Senior Judy Mathes began her reign as 1962 Football Queen of MVHS. Attendants were Carol Cook, Junior; Patty Crooks, Sophomore; and Barbara Lowe, Freshman. Carol Cook, Maid of Honor; Nancy Schoening, Crown bearer; Judy Mathes; Jennie Stevens; J. York, foot- ball carrier; Patty Crooks, and Barbara Lowe. 20
