This year the Forum staff voted the 1966 dedication to Mr. Houston Schlosser. Mr. Schlosser teaches geometry, but is bet- ter known as the basketball coach. Anyone attending athletic events will find Mr. Schlosser and his enthusiastic Maxine present. The Schlossers have two children, Houston, Jr., who is in the Marine Corps and Karen, who is a freshman at Ohio Uni- versity. Mr. Schlosser attended Mount Vernon High School and entered Grove City College, how- ever, his college career was interrupted by World War II. He achieved his B.S. at Ohio Wesleyan. While instructing and coaching at Ravenna, Ohio, he obtained a Master's Degree at Kent State University. Known for congenial ways Mr. Schlosser gets very enthused during some basketball games. He once lost a filling over yelling. As a coach, he has had many good players and seasons and in 1964 Mount Vernon shared the Central Buckeye League title with Urbana. As a teacher he was the lone geometry teacher for many years and has always been held high as a good coach who can instruct. His joking manner can be explained by an incident which happened a few years ago. Playing Bexley Coach Schlosser was miffed by the officials and decided to voice dis- content. ' He gathered warmup uniforms, towels and whatever he could grasp, started to the Bexley coach and barked, '4You might as well have this stuff, you'1'e getting everything else to- nightf' Ky . 1 Mr. and Mrs. Schlosser on their Honeymoon.
