Q 3553 '--5 as The space flight of Colonel Iohn Glenn was one of the big news events of the year. His flight was followed by students who listened in on the radio broadcast which Was carried by the school intercom. The close-up shot of Colonel Glenn Was taken at New Concord by Forum photographer Darrell Gilbert. He made a special trip to New Concord in hopes of getting a picture and got this one from a distance of 30 feet With a telephoto lens. the sky's the limit! These students were for- tunate enough to Watch Colonel Glenn's flight on a television while most of the other students had to listen on radio. 14

Becky Ball seems serious about helping students choose tickets for the all school play, I Remember Mama Taking part in a Latin Club skit are Debbie Ward, loni Clark, Iune Hall, Paula Mickle, and Lucille Butler. These girls, dressed as Roman lords and servants, were honoring the birthday of the Roman poet, Virgil. As part of the program each participant told something about Virgil's life.

This program is played through the courtesy of the local radio station, WMVO. records and radio are a part of our daily lives Last fall try-outs were held tor school public ad- dress announcers. The winners were Leslie Hol- mes, Iim Cowlin, and Wayne Decker. These stu- dents have done a fine job this year and are to be con- gratulated on their whole tones and clear enuncia- tion.
