FOREWORD Within the pages of this yearis Forum there are captured all the events, both night and day, of the past school year. On these pages are caught the memories of each student of Mount Vernon Highg the events, either happy or sad, which happened during the day and in the evening. A day - the period from dawn until dark. It is a long time packed with numerous events. There are swift-moving days and boring days. There was the day the Home Economics Class had a party, and the day the Iowa State Tests were given. Yes, fun days, and trying days all make up the school year. And as the night follows the day- so the extracurricular events follow the classroom work. The post-game dances, the club meetings, the plays, and the Forum Show all contribute to make the night happenings at Mount Vernon High memorable ones. Day and night - night and day - quickly the time hurries on. By turning the pages of this 1961 Forum, the vivid memor- ies of the unclaimable past will be recalled to each student's mind.
