BIG SISTER LITTLE SISTER On September 19, 1986 many freshmen and seniors gathered for the Big Little Sis- ter reception at Pelham dorm. Many chat- ted about the exciting new school year. Each freshman was given a pretty red car- nation. The final moment came when each senior pulled a freshman name out of a hat The other half of the reception was spent getting to know one ' s big or little sister. Many students were happy to find out that they had many things in common with one another. 2. There is nothing like a hug from your big sister. 3. LIFE ON CAMPUS The student life here is not limited in any way. The on campus activities such as flag football and soccer keep the students busy. The on campus pub. now called the Agora Club specializes in happy hour every Friday where students from Georgetown, A.d, Maryland, George Washington, and others come to socialize with Ml Vernon women. DJ. ' s and live bands keep the students entertained as they sit back and enjoy a few beers. It ' s a great place to meet people. During the fall and spring seasons, the pool is a favorite spot for those warm days. Student life is not just limited to on campus activities. Since Georgetown is right down the road, many of the students take advantage of it A favorite bar is the Third Edition as well as a number of other pubs in the area. Night life is not the only reason students go to George- town. Georgetown Park is a great place to get some shop- ping done. Students do not stop at Georgetown because just a few miles away is down- town Washington, D.C. There students can enjoy such sights as the monuments, White House and the capitol just to name a few. Another attraction is the mall grounds which is surrounded by all the Smith- sonian museums. This is a favorite spot when one has some free time. The National Zoo is popular among the students as well. There one can see the famous panda bears Ling-Ling and Sing-Sing. All of these attractions in the area keep the students busy taking advantage of their loca- tion. There is so much to do and see that it can wear the students out. All in all, student life is in no way dull. 10 Student Life
