Hi 1 My name ' s Peter t live down the street 3 the president ' s address Advent Is. But too often The human dialectic Becomes Either “Do I eat a peach? Or “Shall I part my hair behind? At least Where do we go from here? Provides the greater Potential Of being hoisted By one’s own petard. Better to go out with a bang Than a whimper. Bravo for birth-comings! In your deliberations Therefore Dare more than Prufrock. Like Ophelia ' s Dane Grapple With gargantuan issues. To prefer not to May avoid a momentary madness But Zarathustra said it best: To give birth to a dancing star One must become A chaos. Advent is And shall be. Who can answer the unanswerable? How fine That there may be No answer But rather Answers. Peter D. Pelham 1972 dedication We talk and You listen. We complain and You explain. We cry and You comfort. We laugh and You laugh along. We are angry and You soothe us. We are indifferent and You challenge us. In your silence you seem to be saying to us: Tomorrow you will have to play a much more difficult piece. Tomorrow, when the audience is beginning to listen for wrong notes, And you no longer have me in the wings — Then we shall see what you can realty do. Yesterday we hardly expected that by Today you would have prepared us so well for Tomorrow. Because of this, you have won our friendship and respect.
