GROTE-MIL ITARY the military work at Tamalpais tor the year 192-l-25 was never better. The cadet officers and non-commissioned officers were eager to per- form their duties according to the best of their abilities. The Klilitarv Prone- ' 1 iency lxecords acted as a great stimulant for the cadet to give his best at all times. In these records he was graded on obedience, courtesy, promptness, neatnesis, dress, military bearing, and military knowledge. The grade he re- ceived in these ratings and his scholastic record determined his proficiency for promotion. The usual instruction in school of the soldier, squad, and platoon was given. The practical side of extended order was developed this year. lu- strucition in gallery rifle practice was given and the rifle team entered various local and national matches. The formal ceremonies of guard mounting, battal- ion parade. and battalion review were often held, The fine exhibition of proficiency in these ceremonies on .-Xlumni Day will always be a credit to the Cadet Corps of Klount Tamalpais Klilitary Ncademy,

Ever THE BAND This cadet activity was the crowning' success of the military year here. Although our session began on August 22nd, the Band turned out next day for practice, and on August 30th made their initial formal appearance in our military ceremonies. lYe unhesitatingly accord this organization credit for in large measure holding the cadet interest to such a high point during the year, and to have made and retained such a definite interest in our military work throughout the year. Hale Brothers broadcasting station, KPO, in San Francisco, courteously extended an opportunity for our Hand to present a radio concert extending the Corps' Christmas greetings to patrons and dis- tant friends of the Academy. That it was a success goes without saying, for from points up and down the coast and in the interior. - many of them extremely distant and others in isolated hack country sections, - came cards, letters and messages of appreciation and earnest requests for repetition. KPO, too, was deluged with these messages and in self defense tendered the Band another concert period in March. Lieutenant Sahin Kane this time offered a most difficult overture, some operatic music and some of the well known Academy favorites, - and again our Ilan V . .
