DEDIC TIO Sigmund R0mberg's popular tribute to stout- hearted men aptly embodies the theme of this year's dedication. In every phase of the recent rapid fulfillment of the dreams of generations, our former principal had been confronted with, and graciously accepted, the lion's share of the all but pleasant labor involved. Conveniently square were the shoul- ders bearing the brunt of construction responsibili- ties and their associated financial entanglenients, along with the already herculean task of regiment- ing a thousand boys through their scholastic maneu- vers. Many a late night and wee morning hour found Bro. Leo Sylvius ironing out inevitable wrinkles in the blueprints of our Dream School. BROTHER LEO SYLVIUS Had there been no restraining hand with an eye to his fitfulness for realizing other dreams, Bro. Leo would be with us still-his hands to the plough and determined eyes set on even greater goals. Now that he has left us, we gratefully dedicate to his esteemed memory this annual of Mount activities spanning the past year-activities enacted in the splendid environ- ment which his incessant toil made possible. More permanent still than the physical structures proudly depicted herein is his constant example of utter devotedness and winning modesty-a rare combina- tion urging us to the finest way of life. To an es- teemed Religious and cherished friend, we gratefully dedicate the 1953 MOUNTAINEER.
