Women Top Concern Of The College Several factors emerge from the history and environment of the col- lege that create a distinctive com- munity. A true academic communi- ty becomes possible — the total college — not just the classroom, the academic major of the course — is a learning environment. Histori- cally, the college is a liberal arts institution with a special concern for the education of women; how- ever, men are admitted to under- graduate music and nursing, to graduate programs, and to summer sessions. It is a small college of about 1,000 students on the two campuses. The Chalon campus primarily offers baccalaureate programs in liberal arts and sciences, and relat- ed professional training. The Do- heny campus offers a variety of programs ranging from associate through graduate, in which the me- tropolitan setting is a significant factor in learning. The first building on campus Brady Hall finished in 1931. The three photos show the near-start, mid-completion, and the finished building. M yi- w rAr «« , BOH 12
