D.SC.H.. as the Bishop of Fall River. has shown sincere interest in all things pertaining to Youth and Educa- tion. The Annual Vocation Day Mass is an important part of our school. Here the Bishop speaks to the assembled high school students, urging serious consideration of the three vocations in life. Our Bishop honors us each year by presiding at our graduation exercises. RIGHT REVEREND JAMES J. GERRARD, V.C. We, the graduates of 1956, Mt. St. Mary Academy. learned to know and to appreciate Monsignor James J. Gerrard. V.G., in our freshman year through the Sodality meetings. Our regard for him increased as each scholastic year passed. In our senior year. however, this reverent esteem was deepened through his inspiring instructions each week. a cherished privilege we enjoyed! Individually we have been assisted by his kindness and expert guidance whenever this need arose. The principles that Monsignor Gerrard has set hefore us will he the stimulating influence for us in future years to remember our Catholic training and to live up to its ideals.
