Gerrard, V.G., devoted friend of youth, who, interested in our interests, ever inspires us with a deep, practical Faith. At the opening of our senior year we were gladdened by the news that our Reverend Director had been elevated to the rank of Domestic Prelate. We rejoiced at this new honor which Our Holy Father had conferred upon you, Monsignor, but we feared that your time might be so crowded that you could no longer act as advisor for our academy. Subsequent months have proved that our fears were in vain. Because of your untiring interest in our problems, your zeal in urging us on to be different, your generous ex- penditure of time, patience, effort, and your guiding counsel, we lovingly dedicate our 1955 MERCYCREST to you, Right Reverend james Gerrard, V.G.
