Rcfuiwcaf in fg ace It matters not at what hour the righteous fall asleep. On December 6 came the sad tidings of the death of the Rt. Rev. Msgr. John J. Healy, V. G. Some twenty-five years before, in answer to the call of his Master, he had accepted the Lord as the portion of his inheritance. Like Samuel of old, he answered God's call, like Paul, he had asked, Lord, what will thou have me to do ? Twenty-five most fruitful years in the vineyard of Our Lord intervened before the call came to return to his Father's house. Shortly after ordination, the voice of authority of Holy Mother Church called him to the high responsibility of care of souls in our Catholic school system throughout the Diocese. Under the guidance and protection of Mary the Immaculate Mother of God, he devoted his time, his efforts, his life, to the Catholic school system. To dwell upon his achievements would be presumptuous, for his record speaks for itself as it reflects his great zeal, his kindly heart, his sterling devotion to the interests of Catholic education. For almost twenty-five years, he advised, counseled and assisted in formulating and maintaining the policies for our Catholic schools. Monsignor Healy was one of the founders of the Catholic School Institute which today has found its way into every Diocese of our country. It is especially in connection with the Diocesan Teachers Institute, held annually here at the Mount, that he will be most keenly missed by faculty and students of Mt. St. Mary's. His memory will live on as a guiding star in years to come, and, while we suffer his departure, we feel that his assistance ever will be forth- coming. In grateful remembrance, May the angels lead him into paradise and the martyrs rejoice at his coming. May eternal light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen.
