Baccalaureate Sunday. Solemn High Mass. A masterful sermon by the Vice- president. Solemn academic procession from our well-loved chapel for. the last time. In the evening the Academy graduates present Pharaoh's Daugh- ter . There is no parking place on the Avenue. There is standing room only in the auditorium. Class Day, with its traditional ex- ercises: the planting of the tree, the songs, the presentation of the Spade. In the evening the graduates of the department of music give a concert. How strange it seems not to have classes on Mondayl Commencement guests begin to arrive. There is an atmosphere of joy and ex- pectation on the campus. The Seniors entertain their mothers. The Glee Club and the St. Cecelia Orchestra appear in the final and best concert of the year. The Tune Journaff are herel How well we look in the brown sheet. How im- posing those degrees look after our names-and yet we know All things that are are with more pleasure chased than enjoyed . MOUNTINGS arrives. The early morning hours, which we needed so much to do a hundred and one last-minute things, are spent willingly autographing a book or two or three for close friends. An unusual wave of excitement accom- panies the distribution of the morning mail. In the afternoon a very formal and very impressive reception for the Seniors. We greet, and receive con- gratulations from literally hundreds of friends, students, faculty, dear ones. The Great Day. Multi-colored hoods pass down the Avenue beneath the natural arch of oaks and maples. There is a sort of blurred picture of lights and flowers and faces. There is an inspiring address by Dean Schoonover, and almost before we know it, we are form- ing line for the recessional.
