A RESOLUTION unanimously passed by the Associated Professors of Loyola College at the One Hundred and Ninety- eighth Meeting on January 26, 1950 WPIEREAS, LOYOLA COLLEGE, during the eight and ninety years since its inception, has been aided in the fulfillment of its educational, cultural, and religious ideals by the citizens of Maryland, and WHEREAS, LOYOLA COLLEGE seeks to show its appre- ciation and gratitude to these cherished friends and benefactors who have performed some signal service for its advancement and prestige, or who have manifested loyalty in a notable man- ner, therefore BE IT RESOLVED, that an award, to be known as THE PRESIDENT'S MEDAL be created and conferred on such de- serving person or persons who shall be chosen by the President of Loyola College with the concurrence of the Board of Trustees of Loyola College in the City of Baltimore. In accordance with the resolution just read, wherein the Board of Trustees created the President's Medal, and in sincere acknowledgment of merit, it is my privilege, as President of Loyola College, as it is also my personal delight, to announce that for the year 1959 the President,s Medal is awarded to a superlative master of science, whose relentless coaxing of young minds to realize their potential in the exciting world of biology, electronics, and chemistry has already given him the stature of a legend at Baltimore's Mount Saint Joseph High School where he has been head of the Science Department for the last seventeen years, to an incredibly industrious person in lecture room, labora- tory, science clubs, educational associations, and civil defense, to a teacher whose fame is firmly founded on the dis- tinguished careers of the legion of his former pupils, to a revered friend of Loyola College and a cherished friend of my own, to a dedicated religious and scholar, BROTHER MARCELLUS FEELEY of the Congregation of the Xaverian Brothers.
