room proclaiming our newly-acquired posi- tion. And so in September 1938 we set out on the last stretch of our voyage. A dream come truel XYe now took possession of the front seats in the assembly hall-places heretofore regarded as hallowed by the seniorly dignity of their occupants. Perhaps the first day that we really felt the responsibility of being seniors rest upon our shoulders was on October twenty- second when some of us were fortunate enough to be participants in the annual College Day exercises held at Our Lady of the lflms College, Chicopee. As we were light-hearted, however, responsibility did not rest long with us. XVe continued to strengthen our remarkable, but perhaps not envious, reputation for turning even the most serious situations into mirthful occa- sions. On January fifteenth, we astounded our friends and even ourselves with the drama- tization of Daddy-Long-Legs . Uur tal- ented Alice and Geraldine who portrayed .ludy and Jervis, as well as Patricia Small in the part of jimmy, established a reputa- tion for themselves. 'lihis year has been a year of transition. 'lihe goal which we set for ourselves is this, our yearbook. Around it has centered all the important activities of the year. Retreat furnished a pleasant respite in the midst of all the activities. As each of the three days passed away, the realization that it was our last retreat at the 'Alountu spread over us like a gray cloud. lr is with a certain degree of sadness that we remember it. but in a still greater degree we recall those hours spent before the Blessed Sacrament as the most beneficial and peaceful hours of our schooldays. Xvithout doubt, we shall always think of our retreat master, Rev. Father Charles Xlcllermott, C.S.S.R., as a trusted friend and confidant. Xow, after four years of progress we have reached that other shore. XVe are proud of our accomplishment. happy at the thought of what might lie beyond, and not a little sad at the delightful comrade- ship it brings to an end. Hut indeed it is not an end, merely a break, for as daughters of our beloved Academy, we shall ever feel the bonds of faith, hope and love binding us together. All that lies ahead is vague and uncertain. Only one thing is certain -in 1935 a spirit was born, which has f'lourished despite difficulties, and lives a memorial to l'erseverance. It is a spirit of hope-the Spirit of dql C.-X'I'llliRlNli AICIDON,-Xl.IJ, '39
