£ Jt. J :•!» W IB - - ' W j km -it iKL ViEE S Mount Si started the year with a tough preseason schedule. In the first game, the Wildcats proved victorious over Peninsula, ranked fifth in state. Starting league play with a 2-2 record, Mt. Si set forth to defeat the number one rank- ed, Tahoma Bears. Mt. Si, led by a line up of nearly all seniors, came within a mere point of victory. Costly in- juries forced the Wildcats to search for depth in key positions. These factors contributed in producing a disappointing record of 3 wins and 6 losses. Although, in the area of team unity, the mighty Wildcats came out on top. This year ' s J.V. team ended their season with a two win-three loss record. The Junior Cats started the year off with a BANG and a win over the Tahoma Bears 6-0. The Cats then ran into a big dry spell, waiting for the season finale to repeat their opening, with an exciting seventeen-fifteen victory over the Rams of Mount Rainier. The mid-season stumble was primarily due to the fact that the Varsity team had been devastated by injury. The varsity, was then forced to replace the upperclass starters with underclassman, who had demonstrated promising skills at the J.V. level. Although the win-loss record wasn ' t overly impressive, it allowed an opportunity for our younger players to gain much-needed experience, which shall directly effect the success of future Wildcat clubs. The coach Ray Wilson says that the guys did a great job and to keep up the great work. 102 FOOTBALL
