AFS students held a bazaar in the multipurpose room. There was a wide variety of items including ceramics, pain- tings, and sausage. There were many participants of all ages who especially liked the cake walk. Lynn Hindes said lt was a lot of fun and a lot of people were there. Unlike last year, Mr. Thomas Tilton, German teacher, played accordian music, including Ger- man Christmas carols. Gladdis Pacheco also performed several folk dances. lt was better than we expected, said Roxanne Pew. All AFS students put a great deal of time into the Bazaar. As a result, participation was good, and those who attended had many booths and activities to experience. 1. Joyce Carlson stands in line with her friends to buy an AFS goodie. 2. Joe Milliman is happy with Bazaar assignment. 3. AFS members, Laura Brown, Gladdis Pacheco and Lynn Hindes count their earnings. 4. Lynn Hindes concentrates on new ways to earn money for AFS. 5. At Mount Si, some had trouble adjusting to the English Language, but found many rewarding com- pensations. Gliddis Pachero and Kazumasa Yamasaki were happy not to have to wear uniforms to school. Gladdis Pachero has made a lot of good friends. Kazumasa Yamasaki thinks that one year just isn't enough to understand English. Lars Petersen comments, The homework is basically the same. Some things never change. 1. Kaz Yamasaki thinks about Japan. 2. Juri Yamakita helps prepare for the AFS Bazaar. 3. Lorena Guzman and Gladdis Pacheco watch the entertainment. 4.
