An astonishing 50 girls and guys turned out to participate in Drama Club's many activities. This number was up drastically com- pared to last year's 30. The leaders of this enormous group were: Advisor Maggie Bennett, President Rob McCarty, Vice- President Rob Crispin and SecretaryfTreasurer Danny Grant. Along with performing The Miracle Worker, The Wind in the Willows, and student directed one acts, these talented artists participated in various special ac- tivities as well. These included the Students' Backstage Day at the Seattle Reperatory Theater, and a week-long acting workshop presented by Northwest Acting School. The club also kept themselves busy making some new pur- chases. Platforms for multi-level sets and a tape deck were added to Drama Club's lot. When asked' if she had set any personal goals concerning drama, Mrs. Bennett replied, I would like to extend the base of student in- volvement here at Mt. Future Farmers of America is a student organization to promote agricultural activities and extend learning. F.F.A. started at Mount Si in 1979. Mr. Dan Martell is the advisor and Kathy Eggers is the president. They planned to attend an Or- chid show at Orcas Island in February to study the culture of Orchids. They attended the Puyallup Fair and participated in the forestry contest. They also entered a landscape exhibit which won 2nd place out of 15 entries. 1. Carol Evans works on her flower arrangement. 2. Bill Dellinger gets rid of the bugs in F.F.A. 3. Cathy Munro shows Mr. Martell her flower ar- rangement while Ricky Byrd relaxes. 4. The officers for Math Club were: President Greg Dickman, Vice-President John Gephart, and SecretaryfTreasurer Colleen Boyce. Mr. Marion stated that the officers and other individuals in the club were very outstanding. They all worked together and did a terrific job. ln the club, groups pursue com- mon interests such as: pure mathematics, applications, games, and computer program- ming. They also entered into con- tests. One was National Mu Alpha Theta Co-sponsor National Math. The club has a general meeting about every month. On their own time they would often meet dur- ing second lunches. A few goals they made were to increase in each member the en- joyment of mathematics and to offer mathematical experiences not otherwise available. Also an activity they had was to go to four math contests through the year. 1. Math Club poses for a group picture.
