The officers for the year, Fred Lawrence, president: Harley Brumf baugh. vicefpresidentg Dave Wriglit. seeretaryg Mel Legg. treasurerg Bob Leitz. sergeant' atfarmsg selected the cabinet and immediately began organizing the boys to carry on concession sales at the games. The boys energetically sold coke. coffee. and popcorn at home football and basketball games in order to boost their depleted treasury. The Boys' Club cooperated with the Girls' Club in sponsoring the very successful Girls' ClubfBoys' Club Mixer. The boys were especially helpful in setting up the lattice work and gathering the decorations for the woodland theme. The main money raising project of the year was the Smoker which was held in the gym on Mztrch 17. The Smoker featured boys of various weights for the elevenfbout program. Mr. Scott and Mr. Kantola coached the contenders who were matched in the mosquitofweight. lightweight. light heavyweight. middle' weight. or the heavyweight division. A large and enthusiastic crowd of fight fans turned out for the affair, thus making it a financial as well as an enter' tainment success. The climax of the year was thc annual FatherfSon Banquet which was held in the lviasonic Hall on May 5. The Deltflolay mothers cooked the meat' after dinner entertainment. the Boys' Chorus sang several selections. Mr. klohn Biggs. director of the Wildlift- Department of Vxfashington State. gave a timely talk on game conservation and showed a film on wildlife in hi Vsfashington State. I 4-N 'X ' 'it . Mr. Young. in his first year as Boys' Club adviser. guided the boys through a year of successful achievements. 41
