IN LOVING MEMORY Philip Mahoney was a person of uniqueness, strength, warmth, toleration, but also addictiveness. Those who knew Phil will interpret this for what it is, a rememberance of who Phil was. “To know someone is simple, but to understand is beyond This shows the value of true friendship Phil had. There are so many who “knew” Phil, but to “understand” him was something very different. Those who understood Phil saw a side of him no one else could. Many people knew him in different ways but could only try to understand. Phil dealt with a lot in his life and felt like explaining himself was useless, you accepted Phil for who he was not for what you wanted him to be. Phil showed his uniqueness through the clothes he wore, the music he listened to, and the art he portrayed and, yes, if anything, he was unique! Philip wanted so much to make a difference. Phil did make a significance for so many. It just took a lot for some people to let him know. We can’t look back and regret for some things we may have said or maybe never got the chance to say; Phil knew, Phil knew deep down he was loved but somehow failed to feel it or accept it. We pray now that Philip has finally found the eternal painless existence he always wanted and the happiness he was without in his life. We should never forget Phil and all he symbolized in his life. Rest in peace, my friend. 3 Jason Routzhan was a special person who will always be remembered as a part of this class. He was talented in sports and had a special knack for poking fun at things to make others laugh. His words of wisdom and different attitudes influenced many people to do things the right way. Jason was not perfect, but he really did care for many people. He tried to show his love for others in many ways which we could not understand. His death, was truly a tragedy, for Jason was, at that time, making great strides to improve himself and let others see the good inside him. We will miss Jason always because he was a true friend. He will be kept in our hearts forever and always be remembered as a wonderful person. Jason, although we did not want to accept your death, we can feel comfort in the fact that we had the chance to meet you and know your many fine qualities. Thank you for being such a good friend!

A PART OF ME A PART OF YOU Every moment that we are together, I am learning something, and that knowledge becomes a permanent part of me. Though my feelings will be different a year from now, or ten years from now, part of the difference is you. Because of you I am a different person, and the person I will grow to become, with or without you by my side, will have gotten there partly because of you. If you were not in my life right now, I could not be who I am right now. Nor would I be growing in exactly the same way. Much of what I grow toward, and change within myself, has to do with what I respond to in you, what I learn from you, what I understand about myself through you, and what I learn about my feelings in the dynamics of our relationship. I do not worry about our future together, since we have already touched each other and affected each other’s lives on so many levels that we can never be totally removed from each other’s thoughts. A part of me will always be you, and a part of you will always be me. That much is certain no matter what else happens!!! 29 Author Unknown
