(£bittfr«s (fmnnumts Most people don't realize the work, time, and effort that go into compiling the Mount yearbook. Those who do know are the ones who work on it. To these people we wish to express our gratitude. To Sr. Mary and Mr. Ciarofano—our utmost thanks. Our Hditorial and Business moderators, respectively, must have had a few sleepless nights wondering and worrying. To the hditorial Board who worked to make this the best yearbook possible. The the Business Board and its manager, Mary Flynn, Mary Jane McDonough and l-ileen Sheehan, who drummed up all that wonderful money so that the Hditorial Board could do its thing. To Mr. Norm Porter for his work on Senior individual pictures and class and club pictures. And to Mr. Bill Bartlett, who contributed his help on the Senior pictures. To our own photographers, Tony Bcllomo and Tom Gilligan. in the first part of the year, and later. Gerry Carbine and Sig Wysolmerski, for their good eyes and tricky fingers. To our great faculty for their patience and understanding through the taking and retaking and retaking of pictures. To our ever-enduring and hard-working principal. Hr. O'Connell, who put up with a lot from us. And finally to the school itself and the fantastic kills in it for just being here. For every star that falls to earth a new one glows, For every dream that fades away a new one grows. When things are not what they would seem You must keep following your dream Because another road Is calling. I'll say good bye. ih'iurettum We wanted to write yon some words you'd remember words so alert they'd leap from the paper and crawl up your shoulder and lie by your ears and be there to comfort you down through the years. We are what we feel, and writing it down seems foolish sometimes without vocal sound. But by the time we thought of it. found a pen, put the pen to ink. the ink to paper our four years were gone. So in place of empty words we give to you, Mr. and Mrs. West our 1970 Mount. JJrtnttpals Hlessagt? To The Class of ’7(): Especially at a time when private schools, locally and nationally, arc experiencing financial difficult)-, it is re- assuring to know that the sacrifices of so many people have been well worth the effort. Results, often intangible and difficult to measure, are evidenced through your growth in character, the ideals and goals you have set for yourselves, and the strong academic background that will accompany you after grad- uation. It has been gratifying for me to witness this de- velopment over the past four years. I hope that the Christian education you have received at Mt. St. Joseph will enrich your lives and give impetus to a life long commitment of love and service to God and your fellow-man. Sincerely. THE MOST REVEREND ROBERT F. One of these involvements was the can- vassing and demonstrating for supporters of the Westphal Bill. This bill would provide support for private and parochial schools in Vermont. Over 7,000 signatures were given to the Senators from this area, Robert West, Andrew Orzel and Ellery Purdy. £a A time of happiness. You can borrow but never own it After a while it says goodbye. Congratulations to the directors and all those involved in the plays. A special congratulations goes to the winners of the competition—the Sopho- mores and the Seniors. This is the fourth year in which the Class of '70 has been victorious in the competition. i This year’s Retreat was given by Fr. Donald Beane from New Mexico. Fr. Beane stressed to us the understanding that Christ was a human being as well as God. The celebration of Mass, closing the day of Retreat, left many of us with a better outlook toward our Christianity.
