English Department Perhaps of all the creations of man, lan- guage is the most astonishing. The English De- partment aims at cultivating this creation within each student, so that he may better communi- cate with and understand the world in which he lives. The MSJ English teachers believe that com- munication is a two-way process; they teach the receiving of ideas through listening and reading and the sending of ideas through speaking and writing.
