DEDICATION TO THE PARENTS OF THE Cl SS OF 1967 You have given us of your life and vour great love; your very features are mir- rored in us. You taught us about our God and, at the same time, to distinguish be- tween right and wrong. You also instilled within us a deep love for our country, a love which seeks to encompass the entire human race. From this love our loyalty and sense of dedication have sprung. We, the Class of 1967, owe to you, our parents, a tremendous debt of love, a debt to l)o paid in full during our lifetimes by living the l est possible lives, and raising our children to do the same. Please accept our sincere tribute to your parental love as a down payment on our special liability. This is a solemn promise that you will live on through us. It is our acknowledgment of the trust you have placed on our shoulders, as American youth, for the future of our nation, and that of our very world. This is also an ac- ceptance of your trust and the challenge that accompanies it; To dream the im- possible dream . . and make it come true. 1ABLB OF CONTPMS Title Page...................................Page 1 Dedication...................................Page 3 Principal’s Message..........................Page 6 Administration — Faculty.....................Page 7 Classes......................................Page 13 Seniors......................................Page 25 Activities — Organizations...................Page 57 Advertisements 5 PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE. To the Class of '67 — Each of you will hold a special place in my memory as you leave M.S.J. to face the challenge and uncertainly of life ahead of sou. During my first year as Principal, I have watched vou pre- pare for your long awaited graduation day, confident that M.S.J. has helped you to seek your goal of self-fulfillment in this world and its ultimate expression in the eternal union with God in heav- en. In the words of Cardinal Newman. ’ May God support you all tin dav long, fill the shadows lengthen And the evening comes And the busy world is hushed And the fever of life is over And your work is done. Then in His mercy may he give you A safe lodging And a holy rest And peace at the last.” Father O’Connell Graduation I)a 1967 administration AND FACULTY Mr that governs well leads the blind; But he that teaches gives him eyes . . . Teaching is not a flow of words, nor the draining of an hour-glass. To bear with unbearable sorrow. To run where the brave dare not go. To right the nnrightable wrong. To love pure and chaste from afar. To try when your arms are too weary. To reach the unreachable star! This is my quest — to follow that star. No matter how hopeless no matter how far: To fight for the right without question or pause. To be willing to march into hell For a heavenly cause! And I know if I'll only be true To this glorious quest. That my heart will lie peaceful and calm. When Fin laid to im rest. And the world will be better for this. That one man, scorned and covered with sears Still strove with his last ounce of courage To reach the unreachable stars. Their coopera- tion in the securing of ads and social patrons and in tin taking of pictures was greatly ap- preciated. WE are grateful to Sister John Paul. Sister Stephen Marie, and Sister Maureen Jo- seph, who were invaluable with their advice and constructive criticism. A special thanks goes to Joseph Piter and Mary Margaret Fagan, who devoted many long hours to the yearbook during those first days of confusion and pending dead lint's. We also express our gratitude to Philip Elwert. our capable photographer, who. un- complaining. made it bis business to be at the right places at the right times to take can- did shots. Mr. Norm Porter was always available to take the pictures of classes and organizations without which there would have been no 67 Mount . The efforts of our fine business manager, Thomas Acker, and his staff w ill not be for- gotten. Our assistant business manager. Clorinda Marro, deserves special recognition for her patience during moments of scheduling and rescheduling ail shots. To the homeroom teachers, underclassmen and club moderators, we say thank you for the cooperation and help shown us during interruption of classes for picture taking. As editors we owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to our dependable staff. In conclu- sion, we cannot too many t imes say thank you to all those w ho have made this yearbook possible.
