Dear Graduates: Your yearbook is a journey into the past; not the remote past, but those four wonderful years which arc be ini; climaxed this week with your graduation from M.S.J. As such it will be perused often and treasured for years. With graduation from high school many of the activities and interests of the past years will be left behind. You will be entering new worlds, you will be making new friends, you will find new interests, new challenges. The very nature of high school makes all of this necessary; your stay here was never intended to be permanent. Rather we were expected to help you through your formative years, to help you build the foundations upon which your future- must now arise. What that superstructure will be will depend upon many factors but mainly it will depend upon you. For four years, then, we have had a part in your intellectual and spiritual growth. We have tried to present the wisdom of the ages, to give you a taste of culture, to lead you along the paths of right reasoning, correct thinking and clear expression. And all of this we have tried to do within the framework of Christian truth and discipline. Hopefully you arc now equipped to form healthy attitudes, to make prudent decisions, to become truly Christian per- sonalities, to create happy and useful lives. As you begin your venture into the future our prayer for you is that God will bestow His choicest blessings upon all that you do and that, in return, from your hearts there will arise a profound exemplary love to light and warm the world around you. Father Searlcs
