Throughout the course of her teaching career. Sister has influenced the lives of her pupils in numerous ways. These former pupils include many of our parents and relatives, as well as some of the teachers who are now her fellow faculty members. All that is esteemed in the truly Christian scholar is embodied in Sister Mary Clementine, who has received degrees from Saint Michael's College and Fordham University, and who has also studied at the Catholic Uni- versity of America. Service in other capacities, such as sacristan, librarian, and Confraternity teacher, has been rendered by Sister at various times during her years as a Sister of Saint Joseph. Sister Mary Clementine's interests are numerous and diverse. Whether it be writing religious poetry, reading German, or cataloguing a complete and accurate list of alumni, she can always be relied upon to do the work of a perfectionist. Her deep interest in the religious, scholastic, and athletic life here at the Academy is well recognized and appreciated. In the light of her dedication to the Mount, we, the class of 1965, dedicate our ''Mount'' to Sister Mary Clementine. RIGHT REVEREND WILLIAM A. Nolan On March 5, 1965, Monsignor Crowley, pastor of St. Peter's, was called to his eternal reward. For many years Monsignor Crowley was Diocesan Superintendent of Schools. He was a member of the Diocesan Board of Education and of the M.S.J. School Board. The last eight years of his life were given as pastor of St. Peter's Church. Both within the state and outside it, many learned to respect his great wisdom as an educator and his great zeal as a priest of God. Here indeed was a great priest who throughout his life was well-pleasing to God. May he rest In peace. JJrincipaPs CPlcfcfress Dear Graduates, It is a pleasure to extend our congratulations to you, the Class of 1965. Your high school graduation represents a real achievement and a milestone in your lives. For some it means the end of formal schooling, for others the be- ginning of higher education. For all of you it is the completion of four years of growth in grace and in knowledge. Our prayer for you today is that you will always live according to the ideals we have tried to present during these high school years. To think, judge and act according to the mind of Christ is perhaps a good summation of those ideals. God bless you always. This has been my first year with you at Mt. St. Joseph, and your good spirit, varied talents, and distinctive personalities have made the year a truly interesting and enjoyable first experience. May the Christian education that you have received at the hands of dedicated teachers enable you to go forth as instruments of God to be a credit to your Church, an asset to your community, and an inspiration to your fellow-man. St. Joseph and Rutland High School Bands join in playing the National Anthem. The Mt. St. Joseph Drill Team performed during Half Time at the annual MSJ-RHS football classic. The Band is one of the busiest activities in the school. The home football games, the Halloween Parade, the K. of C. Convention, Veterans' Day Parade, the Christmas Concert, the Tri-State Festival, the Vermont Interscholastic Music Festival, the Spring Concert, Memorial Day Parade gave evidence of the spirit of practice and determination of the members. The Band, however, means more than just hard work and hours of practice—the Band means cooperation and friendliness. It fosters loyalty to our school and fidelity to our ideals—and thus contributes to our development as well-rounded Christians. Vermont State Festival Band Delegates: L. Man- Icy, J. Foti, M. S uc en CReireat During the Retreat, member of the student body came to Father's quarters for guidance and advice, or just for a friendly talk. STUDENT RETREAT Again this year, the student body participated in the annual Midyear Retreat under the direction of Father Thomas Tobin, S.S.E. The tense exam days over, everyone was glad to spend time in quiet meditation, prayer, spiritual reading, and in conferences with Father Tobin. With his warm humor and forceful personality. Father com- pletely captured the interest and enthusiasm of the student body. Each conference was an enlightening experience, pro- voking serious thoughts and firm resolutions. Everyone agreed that this Retreat was one that will remain as one of the best in the history of M. S. J. Father stressed the importance of being completely Christian in all situations.
