With gratitude we present it to our Academy teachers whose constant understanding has been among the blessings and heritage of the Class of '62. Their never-failing humor has helped us over many of our seemingly hopeless problems. Their kindness and consideration has been shown by the way in which they have taken the interests of our entire class into their hearts. For their sincerity and patience we express our thanks, and sincerely dcdiate our 1962 Mount to the Sisters of St. Joseph. J rincipafs JlTessape Uo Ohe (’ ass Of ’62 The long-awaited day of graduation i5 now here. We rejoice with you at this achievement and we take this opportunity to extend to you prayerful best wishes for your future endeavors. Before many months have passed, your class group will be spread far and wide. Some will be in college, some will be in service, and others will have taken their places in the business world. Wherever you might be, please try to remember always the ideals which have been given to you at M.S.J. One final bit of advice: a wise saint of many years ago said, “Work as if all de- pended upon you and pray as if all depended upon God.” This combination of work and prayer will surely bring the success which we hope for you as you leave Mount Saint Joseph. This organization, also under the direction of Major Pelton, has spent a very busy yet enjoyable year. It provided the musical background for our Christmas Play, “The Other Wise Man,” and ended the year with varied selections at the Spring Concert. Major Pelton, our very capable director of Band and Glee Club, has devoted many hours to bene- fit our music groups. Presently we have 59 members composed of seniors, jun- iors, and sophomores. The purpose of our club is to bring together all those who think their future career might be found in the medical field. We also sponsored a Faculty Tea during American Education Week; we sold fudge at the Sister’s Pre-Christmas Festival, tutored students, did student teaching at local schools and at Brandon Training School, and helped teachers. A party for small chil- dren was given at Christmas time. To obtain money for scholarships for graduating senior members, we have undertaken money-making projects. Among these projects were: the selling of programs at the M.S.J.-R.H.S. football game, the sale of Christmas cards, a raffle on a letter sweater, a Sadie Hawkins Valentine Dance and a Grinder Day. Good teachers are in great demand today. Girls who have a desire to teach, who love children and have average marks or better, are welcome members in the club.
