spirit of learning classes Let us not neglect that most important spirit which should be a part of every school, the Spirit of Learning. lt is not lack- ing at the Academy. lt is an eager spirit that prevails for five hours of the day throughout the school week. In that time, thoughts are turned to studies and the real purpose of our school life is shown forth. ln the classrooms we meet freshmen, bewildered yet eager, sophomores, adiusted and lively, juniors, industrious and friendly, and seniors, serious about the future and determined to graduate. A typical day at the Academy begins with a short homeroom period at 8:35 A.M. and ends at the conclusion of the seventh period at 2:45 P.M. Between these hours dwells the school day. Sometimes it moves swiftly, and sometimes very slowly. The day holds classes of math, science, typing, shorthand, re- ligion and various languages. These are a part of the courses offered here at the Academy, the College Preparatory, Busi- ness, General and Trade Industrial Courses. This is the Academy spirit in action, an eager spirit, practicing what we are taught.
