MRC CAMPAIGNS FOR A NEW CAMPUS With registration at peak capacity during the 1964-65 term Mount Royal began to look fora way to expand. Due to the high cost of down town de¬ velopment, a suburban site would have been more suitable and when Lincoln Park was purchased by the city from the Federal government the college began to think of the possibility of establishing itself there. However, there were other contenders for the property. The Calgary Exhibition and Stampede Board also wants the site and began an expensive publicity campaign for the property. The students ofMRC, feeling the cramped campus growing more crowded each month decided on a course of action that took them to city hall with pickets declaring their case. As of April 15, our final copy deadline, no decision on Lincoln Park has come.

THIS WAS THE EMERALD YEAR Fifty-five years ago this year Mount Royal College was founded. This was the emerald anniversary, hence the cover of this book is emerald green. The year will be remembered in many ways. It started out with a bang in September as the Cougar Football team fought for a berth in the Alberta finals. They were unsuccessful, but another year lies ahead. It was a year of change too. Rumors have been circulating that this is definitely the last year for Mount Royal on this location. We are just too large to exist here any longer. So, a new yearanda new campus seems to be in the immediate future.
