Judy shows her enthusiasm Mary Lamery takes a stand The 1979 Mount Rainier swim team, though not graced with an abundance of wins, were blessed with an abundance of talent. The Rams had such state qualifiers as: Karen Luschei, Serena Watson, Erica Nordean, and Lesley Fallon in the 200 meter medley relay. Erica Nordean also qualified in the 100 meter fly and the 50 meter freestyle, Karen Luschei qualified in the 100 meter backstroke and the 50 meter freestyle. The Rainier girls were also a team comprised on the theory of team dedication and unity. The girls constantly were involved in various team functions such as: team breakfasts, banquets, and team dinners. The girls of this years team were not just considered a team in the pool alone, but a group of good close friends as well. Receiving this year's awards were, Judy Elrod, voted most inspirational and Sue DeMeerleer, awarded most improved. Daring Deena dives devinely 1 A

' 3 S I Paula likes the results. Oops! Wrong sport! The 1979 Mount Rainier Girls' Swimteam, under the direction of third-year coach Paula Stokke, enjoyed another competitive and exciting year. Although the girls' achievements, as far as the won-lost record, were not that impressive, an inspirational and spirited group of dedicated athletes enjoyed another personally successful season. Paula and the rest of the Ram girls, in this message, would like to take this moment to thank all people who devoted their afternoons to the Rainier girls at all their meets. To all the timers, to all scorekeepers, and to all their faithful fans who played a pivotal role in the girls having such a smoothly ran and exciting year, the girls offer a much appreciated Thank You.
