Jerry Curtin discovers , when teaching others. TUTORING PROVES A CHALLENGE Reading center for all ages This year the reading program expanded to form a new Reading Center. Now, with this expansion, students from Midway, Pacific, and Mt. Rainier participate jointly in the program. Mt. Rainier partici- pation also includes many students who become tutors and work on a one-to-one basis with other students. The main purpose of the new center is to involve students who might benefit from diagnostic testing, tutoring, and small group instruction. This is done in comprehension, skills, and reading in the subject matter areas. The Reading Center, located at Pacific, is operating on a full-time basis under the direction of Mr. Floyd Hutton and Mrs. Gail Husen. With their help and the help of the student-tutors the new center has become a successful teaching program. ax. V ---up. -, 'rt W My 8 - -FV? v 1 in. .. , , .,,, ,., , ef, .i, N- .
