VVS YOUR FUTURE New 0SCenter launched At 8:00, when most students are in first period, the occupation skills students hop on a bus and head for the new center. The main building includes all the programs and the resource center, except for the marine technology, located at Seahurst County Park. Both are in use for the first time. For three hours a day the students experience learning in an on-the-job atmosphere. After graduation, they are directed toward further training or helped with job placement. The visual communications class develops the uses of new techniques in such areas as photography, television, and the production of printed materials. Commercial clothing offers experience in production, care design, and profit for the student interested in the clothing industry. The foods class practices on other students as they operate a mock restaurant during lunch to develop skills. The plastics program emphasizes production, tooling, and finishing. Marine technology classes start from scratch as they learn basic seamanship. Medical assistants train during class and in a clinic.
