Although we were new that year '25 ' -y ' and the routine of high school was hard for us, we were successful and ended the year with many long-lasting mem- N .Q ories. 'Jie were very proud of the few activities that we Ax Q- had taken part in. ziilitfd ,f We were out of school only a short time until the '- 'v l' bell rang and we were back once again for another year f W W4 Tie were the same group of dependable students workingto N ,. fffgf achieve all that was for us. Our home room advisors that K, 5.2.11 S year were Mrs. Wethington and Mr. Weoster. Although we were a divided group, we chose class officerszpresident, Q Q' Bernice Helms: vice-president, Marie Medllng secretary In f f-.1 and treasurer, Pansy Cruise. Those selected as represent- atives to the student council were Charles Herion, Laura ,yr LQ Shoe, and 'Bed Ridenhour. If A-f i. As sophomores, many of us joined the various school H3 clubs, such as the debating club and the glee club. Also, 7'iL-5ff -- Q, a few of us played on the athletic teams. Then we were gi., N - 4, again getting out for vacation, and we were proud toleave A gi the tenth year of our schooling with heads held high for we had proved ourselves capable of being successful in J g everything which we had tackled. The next year, our junior year, we came back with an fv . - even greater determination to make the year a memorable -Qg one for all of us. All of us realized that half of our ,Ng high school life was over. In two more years, we knew -that we'd be on our owng thus we were even more aware of p,i'lf5Xf:?fQe ' li- 3 each day of schooling which was preparing us for the day . 4 when we entered the world of responsibility. With Mrs. Woodward as director of Aff? the class, the banquet was one of the best ever given in efr ,,,g.f5y.f the his tory of the school. ll- -1, Qi? Officers for our junior year were: pres., Charles ,T i5'f Heriong vice-president, Ted Ridenhourg secretary, Bernice 5 HJ' Helms, and treasurer, Laura Shoe. Student council repre- Q1 sentatives were Marie Medlin, Jean Fisher, and Pansy 4', As Juniors, we presented a three-act farce nLook Me F ,laf In The Eyen. Mrs Woodward directed, and students taking ,M in part were Laura Shoe, Marie Medlin, Pansy Cruse, Faye film Allman, Novella Maxwell, Rachel Honeycutt, John Fink, Charles Herion, Martin Barringer, Bobby Barrier, and a V Buford Allman. L, Suddenly, the last day was here for our junior year, 4. but soon we were back again, for this, our last year of school. When we entered the door, we were met by Mr. Moye, our new principal taking the place of Mr. Woodward, had been with us for many years. Mrs. Harbison was advisor and proved herself to be a most interested capable leader. Our class officers were: president, Ridenhour, vice president, Charles Herion, secretary, Rachel Honeycutt, and treasurer, Bernice Helms Many of the Seniors were on the basketball teams and, although most of the Games were lost, the team can P be praised for its ability and determination Class colors were maroon and Gold, and the class flower the red rose The Athletic Club, a new but successful organizat ion, sponsered a king and queen contest, in which Ruth Ritchie was chosen queen The cast for the Senior Play, Here Comes the Prince , was Bernice Helms, Marie Medlin, Ruth Sides, Jean Fisher, Pansy Cruse, Faye Allman, Charles Herion Martin Barringer, Ted Ridenhour, Bobby Barrier and John Fink Now that our hibh school years are at an end, are all proud of the record which we have left behind A who our 1 x 1 F. ,ij and 'Af' ,' Q M Q f we ' school as a roup work1n5 together for the one purpose to better ourselves in future years Y .
