Experienced Board Members Direct Our Schools Left to right: Mrs. McAdam, Mr. Huber, Mr. Fletcher, Dr. Hardy, Mr. Heiney. The duty of the Mount Pleasant School Board is to awaken, to inspire, and to train the minds of its youth so that they may become better citizens in our democratic society. Perhaps, more specifically, the basic aim of the board is to help all students so that they can grow intellectually, physically, morally, socially, and emotionally. Confronting the school board throughout the year have been two pressing concerns: completion of the construction project whereby adequate facilities will be available for our increased enrollment and introduction of the blueprint program which was submitted by the Superintendent, Mr. John Heiney, and approved by the board. This ublueprinti' provides for the strengthening of the educational plan for the Mount Pleasant Special School District. Specifically, the outline presents a method of improving the curriculum in the secondary level, increasing the guidance service at all levels, and establishing a program challenging to all students-from the retarded to the superior. The members of the board who assemble at regular monthly meetings are Mrs. Jane McAdam, President, Mr. John M. Fletcher, Vice-President, Mr. John Heiney, Secretary, Mr. Robert V. Huber and Dr. V. R. Hardy.
