In fact, the whole year seemed destined to be a school year like all the others. . But on December 7, 1941, this Arrowhead became the War Edition. Since that day, a day which will live in infamy, Mt. Pleasant High School has been transformed like other institu- tions of America into a war machine working for victory. We have had five months of war, and on this dedicated page is a record-a record of the part we have played during these months. Seven Mt. Pleasant High School boys and two instructors have joined the armed forces of America since September 1941. Two boys of former years have given their lives for their country. In less than two weeks after the Pearl Harbor attack, the Mt. Pleasant schools were the first in the entire state of Texas to become one hundred per cent in the purchase of Defense Bonds and Stamps. The amount, since December, has increased from 55,000 to over S14,600. In these vital and outstanding ways are we giving aid to our country, We shall continue to do our part to win the righteous victorv which will be ours.
