1943 The immediate and all-consuming task confronting us is to win this war. Some of you will go forth to serve in our Armed Forces. I am confident that you will follow the superb example of those from Mt. Penn High School who have preceded you. It is my earnest prayer that the day of victory be not far off, and that, the war task accomplished, you may return to your chosen pursuits of a pleasanter life. It is to this day, and the work then waiting to be done, that you must and shall look forward. Your opportunity for service will be unlimited, the possibilities of achievement undreamed of.
