4 Nl DEDICATIO S A yin. n dedication to a master teacher. Mount Olive College is a better place to learn, live and work because of an extraordinary woman who has given her stu- dents andthe college her best. Her greatest contribution has been made in the lives of thousands of people. She has been the role model for the ideal as an educator, a leader and a Christian. The warmth and beauty of campus buildings can be directly attributed to the hundreds of plants that she and her botany students have nurtured. She served as a member of the origi- nal campus beautification committee, contributing her knowledge throughout the years. The Mount Olive College campus has been made more beautiful both inside and out- side because of her presence. This fine educator joined the faculty of Mount Olive College thirty years ago as a member of the Science Department. During those years she has helped develop the modern sci- ence laboratory that is in use today. Award-winning yearbooks were produced under her expert guidance. She has been honored as the dean of advisors for twenty years of service to the Baptist Student Union. Un- der her leadership the Henderson Science Club has received statewide recognition through its association with the Colle- giate Academy ofthe North Carolina Academy of Sciences. Neither by litany of praise nor by scientific formula can one adequately describe her countless contributions. With a great deal of gratitude and love, the 1986-87 Mount Olive College yearbook staff dedicates this yearbook to Mrs. Lorelle F. Martin, a master teacher. l
