A remark by Father Rea. brings pensive looks to his sen- ior students. Gamma Kaiser points the way to the Holy Land as Jan- et Dressman, Margaret Weber; and Carol DuMont study the directions with her. Religion The primary purpose of Catholic education is the development of good Christians. This is done by the daily teaching of Cath- olic doctrines and basic moral beliefs. The source of these teach- ings is the series, ttOur Quest for Happiness? In the freshmen year the students leam of the creative love of God the Father. Included in this study are the Old Testament, Advent, Confirmation, and Baptism. The redeeming love of the Incarnate Son, which includes study of the Gospels, precepts of the Church, and the Holy Eucharist are the subjects considered by the sophomores. The juniors learn to appreciate the love of the Holy Spirit in the ChurchJ penance, and the Epistles. The beautifying love of our Triune God, eternity, vocations, and preparation for marriage are a few of the many topics discussed in the senior religion class. As a girl reaches her senior year, she can look back over the religious training she has received and realize the wonderful benefits derived from learning to place God in every phase of her life. These beliefs which she has studied lay a solid founda- tion for the rest of her life, and will enable her to carry out her vocation. 12 Sue Holman follows Father Beeke man attentively as he reveals the the basic truths of our religion.
