MORRIS SONIAN SALUTATORY Parents teachers and frlends Thls evenlng, we the class of 1951, are about to complete the f1rst movement rn our song of l1fe We began by learnlng the rudlments and galnlng our background for our llfe ahead We then learned what t1m1ng and rhythm are we obtalned a knowledge of notes and how to blend them together to produce harrr ony We were taught how to dlstlngulsh and overcome dlscordant notes 1n our llves We have learned to apprec1ate the perfectlon to whlch we are str1v1ng after we have experlenced errors that hlnder us 1n our struggle for harmony wlth our fellow be1ngs We wlsh to thank our parents and teachers who have helped us through thls flrst movement The world 1S 1n a cr1t1cal sltutatlon at th1s t1me Many of the boys 1n th1S class w11l be servlng 1n the armed forces soon It 1S our Job as young Arnerlcans to str1ve for a harmoxuous medley of the natlons and peoples of the world lnto one great symphony of Brotherhood We accept th1S task wlth hum111ty and a hope for a peaceful world 1n the years ahead.
