Pride, determination, desire. Those three words had deep meaning to the Mount Miguel Marching Matadors. It was this enthusiastic Matador spirit that enabled the band to march its way to the top and earn the much deserved title of The Best Band in the Land. The band's many achievements included numerous sweepstakes awards and a first place in the Fourth of Iuly Parade in Washington D.C. last summer. Also, the band was asked to perform in the World of Pageantry's Hawaii Invitational International Music Festival last spring. Mr. Roy Anthony, the band director, said this about the band, They are a wonderful bunch of students that I enjoy working with and I am looking forward to their continued progress. Good luck to the Marching Matadors, who represent the spirit and pride of Mt. Miguel. Music staff president, Mike Rylaarsdam, shows his talent playing the trombone. 18 Marching Band MHREHINE V. t- s I ,, fj i. In l First Row: Captain D. Huffman, B. Lazok, T. Newsome, B. Miller, D.
