reflecting the improvements shown in football, the mt. miguel varsity basketball team made their strongest showing in quite a few years. the first string included robert balderas, tom topping, jess jenner, gary klusman, steve soloman, and mark dobransky. mark combined his taller than average height, natural speed, and coordination to show himself to be one of the most outstanding players on the team. known throughout the league for its extreme balance, this team powered its way to a 6th out of sixteen teams at the university tournament and second in the league tournament at helix. coach holm is the head and has strived to improve the team since taking comand in 1970. with this constant improvement taking place, a championship team is expected in the very near future. 1. mark dobransky struggles aggressively for possesion of a rebound. 2. varsity basketball team-front row: ruben ray, jon lower, bill cohen, robert balderas, gary lee, tom topping. second row: greg duncan, tony drake, mark dobransky, dale hoff- man, gary klusman, steve soloman, jess jenner.
