CLASS HISTORY dent, Donald Zerpheyg secretary, Mae Zinkg and treasurer, Connie Lane. Student council representatives were Dot Brooks and Bob Fish. The following honors were bestowed upon class members: Bob Fish and Connie Lane were inducted into the National Honor So- ciety. Sarah Garber was captain-elect of next year's hockey team. Charlie Mayer was elect- ed student council president. Henry Klugh was chosen captain-elect of both the soccer and basketball teams. Class attendants in the May Qucen's Court were Sarah Garber and Charlie Mayer. They climaxed their junior year when they were hosts to the seniors at the prom of the future. Rockets, spacemen, and planets com- bined to create an A'out-of-this-worldl' theme. After the prom, the Jay-cees and Joy-cees entertained the two classes at a Dawn Party in the Fire House. Mr. George Broske was the class adviser this year. SENIOR ORBIT Pop! Bang! Fizzle! Fire the rockets! At last they've reached the exalted positions of seniors. For their final year of school they elected Pat Sehroll, president, Donald Zerphey, vice- president, Mac Zink, secretary, and Connie Lane, treasurer. Dot Brooks and Bob Fish again served them as student council repre- sentatives. Miss Catharine Zeller was class adviser. The class wasted no time getting into the swing of things. First on the agenda was the senior play, Turn Back the Clock. This supersonic production took them back in his- tory to the roaring twenties -and the see- ond night of the production a thirteen-inch snowfall roared in. In December they presented as assembly program entitled The Follies of '54. At this same program they performed Ramnet, a take-off on the TV program t'Dragnet. Student council sponsored a homeroom Christmas decorating contest, which the sen- iors won by using a Nativity theme and the colors silver and blue. After much deliberation the class decided to have a yearbook. Darlene Schneider was elected editor of The Voyager, with Connie Lane and Pat Sehroll as assistant editors. The position of business manager was filled by Mae Zink. Everything was helter-skelter as they flew to get ads and meet deadlines. At last their obligations were met and the proj- ect finished. Class honors this year were as follows: Pat Sehroll was elected president of the band club, a trip to the United Nations Building in New York was won by Connie Laneg Dar- lene Schneider was elected editor of The Hi- Crier , Pat Sehroll was the school's DAR girl. For their three-day class trip, the Class of '54 journeyed to Williamsburg, Va. They were the first class to choose the colonial-restored town as the destination of their hard-earned class trip. All too soon the year ended and they were entertained by the juniors at the annual Junior-Senior Prom. Graduation activities followed on the heels of the prom. Class Day, Baccalaureate Serv- ice, and finally the long-awaited Commence- ment Exercises brought back the thought that the Class of '54 was the last class to graduate from Mount Joy High School. They were the last but not the least, for the Class of '54 will blaze as brightly as a meteor in the years to come. Tzrcn I y-one
