 Little did you think when you first set foot on this campus that what you would learn from books, from classes, and from each other would help give each of you a direction that is new and different and quite unlike that of anyone else. The four years arc almost behind you. and yet will always be a part of what is still to come, for without then» your direction might have been quite different. You are at the liveliest and most enviable time of your lives— everything is ahead of you; the days will not have enough minutes for you to accomplish all you hope, there will be too little time to think back, and no time at all to wonder what would have hap- pened without your Mount Holyoke experience. Something of Susan has rubbed off on Jane, and each is a better person because of the other. The choices ahead are myriad; the decisions are yours and yours alone to make. Echoes of a ski-slope filled with many desperate stranglers, and a few lone skiiers flying downwards... And convocations, and assemblies, and graduation ... And the protests, always accompanying new things. which grew with the building on Pageant Field, and then diminished slowly ... And the peacefulness of studying in Eliot House with a cup of coffee and a cigarette...
