They’re like us around campus, (even now we wonder which of us, when we are seniors, will walk like that in glory.) If not at a pageant, at night perhaps to Skinner, dressed in red. white and blue, proceeding across south campus be- tween lighted torches. lor a day some One is chosen, becomes idealized symbolic of beauty, grace and knowledge.

IVY EXERCISES In thi Spring, we sense it even more, this Spirit we re talking about. Por a minute the seniors feci, these four years have gone too quickly. The others think, why, well miss these people. So for a time those last few days, we belong more than ever before to what is somehow permanent here. There’s the day we hope it doesn’t rain for Step Sing. But then when it does, we love it nearly as much in Chapin, and we can hear the Class Will read even better there. It’s worth, it, too, even if we had to stay up most of the night to write it. People are leaving all the time; ethers are coming back to see it all happen to some one else, and somehow our own packing isn’t getting done at all. But there's too much to do to worry about the mundane. It's graduation time. 30
