.1 The graduation ceremony for the Class of 1976, the largest in the county with 317 graduates, was held on June 8th at 6:30 p.m. warm weather and clear skies made it possible for gradua- tion to be held outside on campus for the sixth straight year. The guest speaker was Colonel Robert Matthews, the Chief of Police in Howard County. Other messages were delivered by Mr. McCrumb, Principal: Joe Rogers, Valedictorianz Matt Hall, Salu- tatorian: and Suzanne O'Con- nell, speaking for the Senior Board. Suzanne explained that the Mount Hebron Class of '76 had given an oak tree and aza- leas to the school. At the end of her speech, she inspired the class with the statement that Life is a do-it-yourself project, so Class of '76, go out and do it.
