l72 Black and Gold Night a Tradition Black and Gold Night took place on February 27. This, the final home basketball game of the season, proved to be an upset for the Vikings as both I.V. and Varsity squads, lost to their Fort Hill opponents. Between games Donald Keister and Bijen Lok- manhekim were announced as Mr. and Ms. School Spirit. Later at the Varsity halftime, the packed crowd was treated to a thrilling show which featured the Band, Lancers, and Cavaliers. The Black and Gold Night tradi- tion of welcoming the new Lancer captain was carried out as Linda McCauley handed her whistle over to the 1976-'77 cap- tain, Alice Noon. Everyone listened to the good vibrations of Legend and enjoyed delicious refreshments, both provided by this year's spon- sor, the Class of '78. Cindec Kloetzli was crowned queen of the Valentine's court. Her prin- cesses were Linda McCauley, Alice Neon, Linda Bauer, and Becky Hardy.

Sponsored by the Freshman Class, it fea- tured the music of Sage. Held from 8-11 in the gym, good attendance and seasonal decora- tions made for an enjoyable eve- ning.
